Always an animal rescuer and advocate, Kate is also a respected communications professional. Not only did she produce and host "Time Warner Cares" for 5 years, a 1/2 hour tv show that Kate originally conceived that profiled various non-profit organizations here in the desert, but as a narrator, Kate was given an Emmy for her “voicing” of the on-going PBS series, "Cycles of Life: Exploring Biology". She is also the voice for dozens of national commercials featuring Nordstrom, Toyota, S&W Fine Foods, Gallo Wines, Best Western and L'Ermitage Hotels to mention a few.[Click Here ] to enjoy Kate's commercial Voice Over demo ...)
Also a professional ASCAP songwriter, Kate recently wrote the music and lyrics to "The Animal’s First Christmas", a tender Christmas carol for children. It tells of the animals that stood around the baby Jesus on that special night...each sweetly observing Him and commenting on what they feel and see.
She plans to donate at least 50% of all profits from this charming song to the Critter Coalition, a non-profit 501 (c) 3 she founded in 2003.
Here in the Coachella Valley, California, home of Palm Springs and Palm Desert, Kate has enjoyed several community service awards. In 2003, she was honored as the "Desert Woman of the Year" and in 2007, was acknowledged as a "Woman of Distinction in the Arts" by the prestigious National League of American Penwomen.
This year Kate will enjoy her 10th year as MC Emeritus for the delightful "Pets On Parade" desert fund raiser that benefits the horses of "Pegasus, the Riding Academy for the Handicapped" and the no-cost/low-cost spay and neuter Program of "Animal Samaritans", a premiere desert animal assistance organization.

"In the end" Kate says,” I want my life to be a personal experience, filled with what makes my heart sing. That not only makes it good for me, but for anyone in my life as well, pets included. One of the things that does that for me is knowing I have done all I can to help animals and the people who love them. I have a particular feel for Seniors and their pets. Frankly, if I do nothing else with the Critter Coalition but give support to them and their pets when in need, whether it’s pet food or a vet bill, I’ll feel I’ve done the right thing. I was raised by my Grandmother and know how deep the connection is between our older citizens and their four legged friends. Sometimes their pets are the only family they have. Keeping them together in hard times is something that gives my life a special meaning and is a way to give back for all of the good I have been given.
Personally, my arrival home can be the highlight of my day with all the “furries” bouncing around, happy to see me, eyes dancing. I know I am not alone in loving this. Here in America, there are millions of others who experience the same kind of delight with their fur ball family! Actually, I think the world would be a lot better place if we'd all just work on becoming the person our pets already believe us to be!" she laughs.
"I welcome everyone to CritterChitChat.com. This web site, along with the love of our pets, can serve to give us all a place to come when we need to bask in the glow that only other animal lovers can understand. I plan to add a blog and possibly a Podcast. Who knows? If it all goes well, CritterChitChat.com might just become the place where we animal lovers ALL come to get OUR ears scratched!!"
